Remote IO Module example
This example shows a MURR MVK-MPNIO DIO16 IRT remote I/O module used to connect field signals to the PLC system.
The module provides multiple digital input and output channels that can be connected to sensors, actuators, and other field devices. Each individual I/O connection is clearly identified with its corresponding device tag, PLC address, reference, and function text, making it possible to trace each field signal back to the PLC program and its physical connection.
The remote I/O module is supplied with 24 VDC, with the power supply connections and potential bonding shown in the drawing. The module also includes a PE connection, with the protective earth connected to the grounding system.
Communication with the PLC is established through the PROFINET network connection. The network connection allows the I/O signals located in the field to be exchanged with the central PLC without requiring every individual field signal to be wired directly back to the main control cabinet.
The drawing also shows the individual M12 connections X0–X7 used for the I/O channels. Each connection provides the required supply and signal connections for the connected field devices.
