RFID Safety Door Switch and Two-Channel Safety Connection
This example shows an RFID safety door switch used to monitor the position of a machine safety door or guard.
The system consists of the RFID actuator -SSWA2 and the corresponding RFID safety switch -SSW2. The actuator is mounted on the moving part of the safety door, while -SSW2 detects the presence of the correctly coded actuator when the door is closed.
The safety switch -SSW2 provides two independent safety output signals. These two channels are connected separately to the safety PLC inputs I210.0 and I210.4 through the safety input module -KF2.5.
The two-channel connection allows the safety system to monitor both safety signals independently. If the safety door is opened, or if a fault is detected in one of the safety channels, the safety PLC can detect the unsafe condition and initiate the appropriate safety response.
The connection between the safety switch and the control system is made using the -WG2 cable, with the individual conductors carrying the required supply and safety signals.
