Network Overview example

This example shows a PROFINET network overview used to document the network connections between the PLC system, network switches, and connected devices.

The main network switch =NET003-SW1 is shown with its available eight PROFINET ports (P1–P8). Each connected network cable is represented together with its device tag (DT) and cable information, making it possible to clearly identify how the network is physically interconnected.

The drawing also shows the connected network devices, including their device tags, network ports, and IP addresses. This provides a clear overview of which devices are connected to each switch port and allows the network connections to be traced from the switch to the individual devices.

For each network cable, important information such as the cable device tag, cable length, cable type, and connection points can be displayed. This makes the drawing useful not only as a network topology overview, but also as a reference for installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
